The point is do not fall for some gimmicky diet an like extremely low carb diet or low fat, super high protein diet, or any other combination that has you focusing on one foodstuff over another.
Your body needs all sorts of foods to thrive and obtain a variety of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, etc. Trying to cut out an entire food group just works against what your body needs. (Like the infamous Atkins diet)

And for snacks try nuts, veggie sticks or dried fruit , fruit smoothies and whole fruit are good as well

And NO junk foods, Really none at all

And when it comes to exercise, do NOT focus on ab exercises to the exclusion of everything else, in fact do them only a couple of times a week, instead focus on whole body exercises like football, cycling, tennis, rowing, water skiing, swimming (especially good, have you SEEN the abs on those Olympic swimmers) in fact any whole body exercise you enjoy is best (so you’ll be more motivated to do it) .
In short If you want great looking flat abs, focus on those full body exercises instead of focusing so much on training the abs directly!
